Job Description

Role Overview: As the Lead EHS (Manager) at Godrej Industries Ltd -Chemicals in Valia, Gujarat, India, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and updating EHS systems and procedures across the site to establish a standard safety culture among employees. You will also be in charge of ensuring legal compliances at the site and liaising with external agencies at local, state, and central levels. Your role will involve conducting internal safety audits, monitoring EHS key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the EHS system & process to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness. Additionally, you will work closely with various teams such as Production, Operations, Project, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure the implementation of EHS management systems and requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and update EHS systems and procedures to establish a standard safety culture among employees - Ensure legal compliances at the site and liaison with external agencies at different levels - Review and plan internal EHS audits, monitor their effectiveness, and identify training needs at the business unit level - Develop modules for addressing training gaps and effectively implement training programs - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS management systems and requirements - Monitor EHS KPIs, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and implement best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency - Foster relationships and clear communication between departments to ensure alignment on EHS requirements and compliance - Conduct safety audits, handle hazardous chemicals and waste, and ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements - Coordinate emergency response activities, evaluate and improve EHS systems in transportation of hazardous chemicals, and organize safety governance systems - Promote safety awareness programs, conduct safety inspections, drills, and audits, and liaise with regulatory authorities for compliance Qualification Required: - BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Fire & Safety/Industrial Safety Engineering/Environmental Engineering OR MSc in Organic Chemistry + ADIS/PDIS - Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in EHS function, preferably in the Chemical/petrochemical/Pharmaceutical/Fertilizer/Agrochemical industry - Strong leadership, team development, communication, listening, and problem-solving skills - Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and lead cross-functional teams If you are passionate about EHS management, have a keen eye for detail, possess strong leadership qualities, and are dedicated to driving continuous improvement in safety practices, then this Lead EHS position at Godrej Industries Ltd -Chemicals in Valia, Gujarat, India is the perfect fit for you.
