Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Process Excellence

• Oversee and manage day-to-day plant operations to ensure optimal production output, efficiency, and quality.
  
• Collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  
• Analyze manufacturing processes and conduct debottlenecking studies to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  
• Continuously evaluate and improve plant equipment, processes, and workflows to enhance capacity and reduce costs.
  
• Utilize scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to troubleshoot and optimize plant operations.
  

New Product & Technology Commercialization

• Lead the commercialization of new products, processes, and equipment from pilot to full-scale production.
  
• Ensure smooth technology transfer while maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  
• Drive innovation initiatives to sustain competitive advantage and operational excellence.
  

Strategic Planning & Project Management

• Develop, review, and implement engineering and operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  
• Plan, schedule, and manage engineering and operational projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  
• Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions where required.
  

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to ISO, FSMS, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
  
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures, SOPs, and waste management protocols.
  
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for safety incidents, quality deviations, and operational failures.
  
• Champion 5S implementation to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workplace.
  

Data, Reporting & Systems

• Collect, analyze, and interpret production and performance data using SAP and other computer-based systems.
  
• Prepare and present production, efficiency, and performance reports to senior management.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely production and maintenance records.
  

Maintenance & Reliability

• Implement and oversee a robust preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
  
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.
  

People Management & Capability Building

• Lead manpower planning, deployment, and performance management for engineering and operations teams.
  
• Train, mentor, and develop junior engineers and staff; ensure adherence to training schedules.
  
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.

Knowledge & Experience

• In-depth understanding of chemical engineering principles and plant operations.
  
• Strong knowledge of SOPs, process troubleshooting, and production workflows.
  
• Working knowledge of SAP and production management systems.
  
• Comprehensive understanding of ISO, FSMS, and HSE standards.
  
• Experience in managing manufacturing operations in a process or chemical industry environment.
