Engineering Manager

A Principal Director of Engineering in India manages large engineering teams, sets technical vision, drives innovation, ensures quality, aligns engineering with business goals, handles budgets, and mentors talent, requiring deep technical expertise (10+ yrs), strong leadership, strategic thinking, and experience with Agile/DevOps, often with a B.E./B.Tech and higher degrees for academic roles.

• Define technical roadmap, architecture, and standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and grow large, often multi‑location, engineering teams; foster innovation and collaboration.
• Oversee complex projects, budgets, resource allocation, and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Collaborate with execs, product, and external partners; manage client relationships.
• Implement best practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) and uphold high standards for code quality and performance.
• Ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Background industry from Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC is compulsory.

Requirements

• Qualification:
• B.E./B.Tech required; M.E./M.Tech or PhD often preferred, especially for academia.
• 10‑20+ years in engineering, with significant time in senior leadership/management roles.
• Expertise in software architecture, development methodologies (Agile, Scrum), DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and relevant tech stacks (Java, Python, etc.).
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, communication, negotiation, and financial acumen.

This position will be based in the India Branch.
