Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Haptik, you will play a crucial role in leading the Implementation & Professional Services team to ensure clients achieve maximum value from our solutions. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing and leading a team of solution engineers, developers, and QA professionals for client implementations and custom delivery projects. - Collaborating with project managers and client-facing teams to ensure smooth execution of implementation roadmaps. - Translating client requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions while aligning with Haptik's platform architecture. - Owning sprint planning, resource allocation, and delivery commitments across multiple concurrent client projects. - Establishing and enforcing delivery best practices across coding, testing, deployment, and documentation. - Being the escalation point for technical challenges during delivery, unblocking teams and ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines. - Driving continuous improvements in tools, processes, and automation to accelerate implementations. - Coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skills while keeping them aligned to client-centric delivery goals. - Partnering closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Solutions, Customer Success, and Sales Engineering) to ensure successful hand-offs and long-term customer satisfaction. - Supporting recruitment and team scaling as the services and delivery footprint grow. In the ideal candidate, we are looking for the following qualifications: - Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide teams on architecture, integrations, and scalable solution design. - Experience managing agile delivery teams implementing enterprise-grade software solutions. - Background in Professional Services, Client Implementations, or Delivery Engineering is highly preferred. - Ability to balance customer requirements, delivery commitments, and engineering best practices. - Exposure to technologies relevant to distributed systems such as programming languages (Python preferred), APIs, cloud platforms, databases, CI/CD, containerization, queues, caches, Elasticsearch/SOLR, etc. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for internal teams and enterprise customers. - Ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire teams to deliver ambitious goals while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. - 5-8 years of professional experience, including 2-4 years in leading delivery or implementation-focused engineering teams. Qualifications required for the role include: - B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 5-8 years of professional experience with 2-4 years of hands-on experience in managing and leading agile teams delivering tech products. - Deep understanding of best practices in development and testing processes. - Good exposure to various technical and architectural concepts of building distributed systems. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Exceptional organizational skills and time management abilities. - Prior experience working with Python Programming language.
