The Johnson Controls Data Strategy & AI team's mission is to infuse AI capabilities into products through a collaborative approach with multiple business units. The team aims to create end-to-end enablers that streamline AI/ML operations, starting from data supply strategy to data discovery, model training and development, and deployment of AI services in the cloud as well as at the Edge. We are currently seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer with industry experience to contribute to foundational AI/ML engineering with repeatability in mind. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with data scientists, platform/data architects, and domain experts from various teams across JCI to build enablers that help productize AI/ML models. Responsibilities include utilizing sound software engineering principles to deliver high-quality software that serves as the foundation for our end-to-end AI/ML solutions, translating AI/ML customer features into well-thought-out engineering requirements, and leveraging GenAI frameworks for designing cutting-edge generative artificial intelligence models. Joining a highly performant technical team, the Senior Software Engineer will work with backend, MLOps, LLMOps, DevOps engineers, and architects to bring workflows to life that aid in the development and widespread deployment of AI services in the cloud and at the edge. Additionally, collaborating with Product and Data Science teams, evaluating technologies, and presenting recommendations for potential partners are key aspects of the role. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated technical abilities - 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in Cloud Services or IoT, with expertise in UI technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS - Proficiency in modern programming languages like Python, Nodejs, and experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology - Hands-on experience with backend services on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, API-first design, message brokers, caches, queues, pub/sub concepts, and container technologies - Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile development methodology and strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering - Experience working alongside Data Scientists to productize AI/ML Models - Knowledge of developing LLMops solutions for generative AI using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and conversational Agents using Azure AI Services or similar services,

Good understanding of Memory subsystem architecture, caches , MMU, memory controller, NOC / interconnects, computer architecture. Debugging and analysis, including use of RTL dumps to debug failures. Exposure to performance simulators, cycle accurate/approximate models or emulators for pre-silicon performance analysis is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to work in a dynamic, product oriented, distributed team.
