Engineer (Base24 or Tandem Development)

As a Systems Engineer or Programmer at ANZ, you will be part of the card transaction and settlement platform team in Bengaluru. Your role will involve handling both real-time and batch transaction processing for millions of credit and debit cards transactions per day from ATM, retail, and internet channels. It is a high-performance, latency-critical, and robust solution with 24/7/365 availability, providing an essential service to New Zealand. **Role Overview:** - You will be responsible for contributing to the design and development of solutions for Card Switch NZ, providing technical expertise to make technical decisions. - Responding to production incidents, conducting analysis and diagnostics to assess impact, determine the cause, and restore service. - Providing primary and secondary support after-hours for incidents as required. - Orchestrating and configuring systems to implement change and ensure successful implementation of software through ANZ's agreed software development lifecycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Must have 5+ years of systems engineering or programming experience. - Experience in either Base24 or Tandem Development. - Minimum 3 years of experience in POS, ATM, and Switching. - Proficiency in Java and SQL technologies. - Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to a constantly evolving environment. - Contributing to the ongoing improvement of processes, tools, strategy & methodology related to infrastructure and system engineering. - Managing pre-production and production environments, including provisioning access and updating documentation. - Providing input as required to implement Vendor upgrades/patches and working with support teams to deploy applications to multiple environments. **Qualifications Required:** - Deep understanding of programming languages, software development, hardware systems, and networking. - Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and implement them effectively. - Skills in project management, planning, and executing. - Creativity to develop modern technologies or improve existing ones. - Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients. - Ability to quickly learn and adapt to modern technologies and industry trends. - Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to make informed decisions. - Knowledge of security protocols and practices to protect systems and data from threats.
