I. Design and Planning
1. System Design Prepare and review detailed designs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing,fire\-fighting, and building automation systems. Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and layout preparation usingrelevant software. Ensure designs are energy\-efficient, sustainable, and compliant with localcodes and international standards. 2. Technical Documentation Develop BOQs, technical specifications, and tender drawings. Review and finalise consultant drawings, shop drawings, and equipmentsubmittal. Maintain version\-controlled records of drawings, approvals, andmodifications. 3. Cost Optimization Propose value\-engineering solutions to reduce project costs withoutcompromising safety or quality. Support procurement in evaluating vendor proposals for technical suitabilityand lifecycle II. Coordination and Execution Support 1. Interdisciplinary Coordination Work closely with architectural and structural teams to ensure proper serviceintegration. Coordinate MEP services to avoid clashes and ensure smooth installation. 2. Execution Support Provide design clarifications to site engineers and contractors duringproject execution. Review shop drawings and method statements submitted by contractors. Participate in site inspections to verify design compliance and qualitystandards. 3. Vendor & Consultant Collaboration Liaise with external consultants for approvals, modifications, andproblem\-solving. Review vendor design data sheets and ensure technical compliance with projectrequirements. III. Quality, Safety, and Compliance 1. Regulatory Adherence Ensure compliance with NBC, ASHRAE, IS codes, IEC standards, and local firesafety norms. Prepare and support documentation for statutory approvals and NOCs. 2. Quality Assurance Implement design audits and peer reviews to minimize errors. Recommend best practices for sustainable and green building solutions. 3. Health & Safety Considerations Ensure all MEP designs incorporate safety, accessibility, and environmentalrequirements. IV. Reporting and Documentation Prepare design reports, calculation notes, and technical justifications. Submit periodic updates on design progress, risks, and mitigation plans. Support preparation of as\-built drawings and final handover documentation. Track lead times for design deliverables and ensure deadlines are met. V. Professional Development Stay updated on latest MEP technologies, BIM tools, and sustainabilitypractices. Attend training programs and obtain certifications in building services orgreen building. Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers or trainees within the team.
