Job Description

Electrical Site Engineer – Installation (HT/LT, TR Cables, Conduiting & Cable Tray)

The Electrical Site Engineer – Installation is responsible for supervising and executing all electrical installation activities at the project site, including HT/LT cable laying, TR (Thermo-Resistant) cable installation, conduiting, and cable tray/trunking works. The role ensures all installations meet project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Cable Laying & Termination

  • Supervise HT (High Tension) and LT (Low Tension) cable laying as per approved drawings and method statements.
  • Oversee TR cable (Thermo-Resistant) laying and termination ensuring proper routing, bending radius, and protection.
  • Ensure proper jointing, glanding, and termination of power and control cables.
  • Conduct insulation resistance tests and continuity checks.

2. Conduiting & Containment Systems

  • Supervise installation of GI/PVC conduits, ensuring correct size, routing, and mechanical protection.
  • Monitor installation of cable trays, cable ladders, raceways, and trunking as per project standards.
  • Ensure proper support spacing, earthing/grounding, and alignment of containment systems.

3. Equipment & Panel Installation

  • Oversee installation of HT/LT panels, transformers, RMUs, VCBs, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, etc.
  • Ensure correct leveling, alignment, and mechanical & electrical clearances.
  • Coordinate with vendor/technicians for testing and commissioning.

4. Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all installations follow relevant standards (IEC, NEC, IS, local regulations).
  • Conduct site inspections, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Verify material specifications and ensure installation workmanship meets quality standards.

5. Site Coordination

  • Plan daily installation activities and allocate workforce and materials.
  • Coordinate with civil teams for trenching, backfilling, and conduit embedded works.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and clients for inspection and approvals.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily progress reports (DPR) for cable laying, tray installation, and conduiting.
  • Prepare as-built drawings, cable schedules, and test reports.
  • Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and inspection requests.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in electrical installation work (HT/LT, cable laying, conduiting, tray installation).
  • Strong knowledge of cable types, bending radius, routing, jointing, and termination.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (SLD, GA drawings, cable routing layouts).
  • Knowledge of installation standards for HT/LT equipment and cable management systems.
  • Familiar with testing tools such as megger, multimeter, and continuity testers.
  • Strong site supervision, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial/commercial building projects.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for HT/LT installation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
