Electrical Project Engineer

Role Overview:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the design coordination, technical review, installation oversight, and commissioning support of Electrical systems including HT, LT switchgears, transformers, power SCADA, GIS and utilities electrical systems. The role involves close collaboration with design consultants, general contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review and validate design deliverables for HT, LT switchgears, transformers, power SCADA, GIS and utilities electrical systems.
2. Coordinate with design consultants and ensure alignment with project specifications and standards.
3. Interface with general contractors and vendors to resolve design gaps and ensure execution readiness.
4. Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities; ensure compliance with local codes and international standards.
5. Maintain and update system documentation and drawings.
6. Monitor progress, quality, and safety during execution phases.
7. Support handover documentation and training for operations teams.
8. Commissioning & Start-up activities including:

• System validation and functional testing
• Coordination with vendors and contractors during installation
• Post-installation performance verification
• Documentation of commissioning protocols and punch list resolution

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical)
2. 5+ years of experience in Electrical systems in industrial projects is mandatory.
3. Proven experience with handling 33 kv electrical systems, electrical HT, LT switchgears systems.
4. Hands-on experience with handling power scada.
5. Strong understanding of NFPA, UL, EN, and local fire/safety codes.
6. Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
7. Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with system integration, commissioning and start-up workflows.
2. Knowledge of project documentation standards and QA/QC procedures.
3. Exposure to AutoCAD.
4. Understanding of construction safety practices and site protocols.
