Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in shipbuilding to design, develop, and oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems aboard marine vessels. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in marine electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic shipyard environment. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical systems and components for ships, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and control systems. Prepare detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and technical specifications based on regulatory and customer requirements. Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and project teams to ensure electrical integration in vessel design. Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems onboard vessels. Conduct troubleshooting and fault analysis of existing systems and recommend necessary modifications or repairs. Ensure compliance with international marine standards (e.g., IEC, IMO, ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register). Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for electrical components and equipment. Provide technical support during sea trials and operational testing. Prepare documentation including test reports, maintenance manuals, and safety guidelines. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience in the shipbuilding or marine industry preferred. Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, automation, and power electronics. Familiarity with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software. Understanding of classification society rules and marine regulations. Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to work in shipyards and onboard vessels as required.
