Job Description

Electrical engineers in construction are responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising the electrical systems of a project, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and meet all technical specifications. Their duties include creating electrical plans, which encompass power distribution, lighting, and fire safety systems, and overseeing the installation process. They also manage budgets for electrical components, troubleshoot technical issues, and enforce safety standards on site. Design and planning

  • Develop electrical plans: Create detailed schematics and designs for all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms.
  • Budgeting and purchasing: Estimate costs for electrical components and materials and manage the purchasing process.
  • Technical specifications: Write specifications for new and existing projects and ensure all plans meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.
  • System integration: Ensure electrical systems are properly integrated with other building systems like HVAC, security, and building automation.

Site supervision and management

  • Oversee installation: Supervise and inspect the work of electrical technicians and contractors to ensure it aligns with the design and safety standards.
  • Enforce safety: Implement and monitor safety procedures and conduct safety orientations for workers on site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot issues: Resolve any electrical problems that arise during construction, from minor issues to complex malfunctions.
  • Monitor progress: Track project progress against the schedule and budget, providing regular reports and addressing any potential roadblocks.

Quality control and compliance

  • Quality inspections: Conduct on-site inspections to ensure the quality of work and that all components meet industry standards and codes.
  • Statutory compliance: Ensure the project adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations for electrical work.
  • Testing and commissioning: Test new electrical systems and equipment after installation to confirm they are functioning correctly and safely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,482.07 - ₹41,164.24 per month
