Role Description

Senior Automation & Instrumentation Design Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical panel design, loop diagrams, wiring layouts, and I/O schedules using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Develop and review control panel GA drawings, power & control wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Design and document instrumentation layouts, JB layouts, and hook-up drawings.
• Interface with PLC programming and SCADA teams to define I/O mapping and signal integration.
• Select field instrumentation such as pressure, flow, level, and temperature sensors as per process requirements.
• Ensure compliance with international standards in electrical and instrumentation design.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and project teams for control architecture finalization.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and site troubleshooting for automation and instrumentation systems.

Skill and Abilities

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD Electrical

  and

  EPLAN

  for electrical design.
• Strong knowledge of

  instrumentation principles

  , loop checking, and P&ID interpretation.
• Familiar with

  PLC/SCADA hardware I/O interfacing

  , panel design, and cable routing.
• Experience with

  electrical and control documentation

  for GMP-compliant projects.
• Understanding of

  international electrical codes

  (IEC 60204, UL 508, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in selecting

  industrial sensors

  , actuators, and control devices.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities for cross-functional collaboration.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in automation & instrumentation design in process industries.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN; experience in Smart Plant or similar tools is a plus.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics.

Managerial Skills:

• Project Handling:

  Manage electrical and instrumentation design scope in turnkey projects.

• Documentation:

  Prepare detailed as-built drawings and design dossiers.

• Team Collaboration:

  Work closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams.

• Problem Solving:

  Troubleshoot design and implementation issues during project execution.
