Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Panel Design Engineer to design LT/HT control panels, distribution boards, APFC panels, PLC/automation panels, and custom electrical enclosures. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical systems and standards, and be proficient in CAD tools for schematic and layout design. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements as per customer requirements. Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), GA drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and wiring schedules. Select appropriate electrical components such as MCCBs, MCBs, relays, contactors, PLCs, and meters. Ensure compliance with IS/IEC standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Coordinate with the production team for manufacturing feasibility and resolve design-related issues on the shop floor. Provide design support during FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and troubleshooting, if required. Review and revise existing drawings and documents based on modifications or customer feedback. Collaborate with the sales team for technical inputs on quotes and tender documents. Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design files. Required Skills and Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. 1–5 years of experience in designing electrical control panels. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical Sound knowledge of electrical components, protection devices, and panel wiring practices. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to read technical specifications and customer tender documents.
