Education Counselor Responsibilities & DutiesProvide one-on-one counseling to students regarding academic, career, and personal issues. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Assist students in course selection and scheduling to meet graduation requirements. Coordinate with teachers and school administrators to monitor and support student progress. Facilitate peer counseling and mentoring programs to encourage student engagement and support. Maintain up-to-date records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes. Stay current with educational standards, trends, and best practices to provide high-quality counseling services. Education Counselor Qualifications & Skills degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with Institutions admissions processes and requirements. Competence in using counseling management software and other technological tools. Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field. Minimum of 6 Months of experience in a counseling or educational role. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to build rapport and trust with students, families, and staff. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. Knowledge of educational laws, policies, and procedures.
