As an Economic Analyst at WSP, your role involves conducting applied economic analysis, including cost-benefit assessment, policy evaluation, and basic modeling. You will manage and interrogate large datasets with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility of results. Additionally, you will be responsible for building interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI and Tableau to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Your ability to translate raw data into actionable insights supporting business cases, socio-economic assessments, and strategic recommendations will be crucial. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to integrate economic evidence into project deliverables and contribute to the development of in-house tools and data visualization standards will also be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct applied economic analysis, cost-benefit assessment, policy evaluation, and modeling. - Manage and interrogate large datasets ensuring accuracy and reproducibility. - Build interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI and Tableau. - Translate raw data into actionable insights supporting business cases and recommendations. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate economic evidence into project deliverables. - Contribute to the development of in-house tools and data visualization standards. - Support business development through analytical inputs to proposals and client discussions. Qualifications and Experience: - Undergraduate degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred. - Strong background in applied economics, quantitative analysis, or policy evaluation. - Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, R, Python, or Stata, along with data visualization platforms. - Experience in building and maintaining dashboards, automating data pipelines, and presenting analysis to senior stakeholders. - Demonstrated ability to handle and analyze large, complex datasets. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Desired Skills and Competencies: - Experience with GIS and spatial analysis is highly desirable. - Familiarity with international datasets and standards (UN, World Bank, national statistics agencies). - Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on evidence-based solutions. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time and budget constraints. - Passion for innovation, sustainability, and applying data for meaningful socio-economic outcomes.
