Dispatch Planner

As a Dispatch Planner, your primary responsibility will be to schedule and plan the dispatch of drivers, vehicles, work crews, or equipment to various locations. You will be in charge of communicating information between work crews, supervisors, emergency personnel, or field inspectors. Additionally, your role will involve developing delivery routes by utilizing mapping software, weather forecasts, and traffic updates. Customer service will be a key aspect of your job as you will engage with customers and supervisors to address requests, resolve issues, or fulfill equipment requirements. You will also be required to maintain accurate call logs and utilize dispatching software efficiently. In terms of logistics, you will play a vital role in optimizing drivers" routes, selecting appropriate transport equipment, and managing pick-up and routing tasks effectively. Stock management will be another area of focus where you will optimize stock allocation, monitor out-of-stock risks, and conduct annual inventories. Furthermore, your contribution to the development of logistics strategies and support for various supply chain processes will be essential. Employers typically seek dispatch planners who possess tech-savvy knowledge, fast typing skills, and experience in data entry. Knowledge of emergency procedures, proficiency in English (both oral and written), exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask are also desirable qualities. Being an active listener with excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and critical thinking abilities will be advantageous in this role.
