There is an opportunity to join our team as Director Chassis Engineering in Bangalore. Chassis Engineering is a function within Vehicle Engineering in UD Trucks Technology and locally represented in Bangalore. As a Director you will hold an important strategic role belonging to the department Vehicle Engineering within UD Trucks Technology organization in Bangalore. He or she is accountable for start cost project and product maintenance deliveries from an engineering perspective for the defined range of products and services governed. He or she as well, has the additional responsibility in securing and maintaining the technical roadmap for the complete vehicle within the scope defined by the product responsibility. The Director Chassis Engineering reports to the Director Vehicle Engineering within UD Trucks Technology and located in Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the project portfolio related to Quester Croner ranges, within the scope defined by the product responsibility and to ensure the total technical delivery in each project is as per GO/QDCF decision and targets.
- Product Range responsible for the defined scope (Chassis Engineering) for Quester Croner ranges
- Ensure the technical scope of projects are delivered in line with platform strategies, within the scope defined by the product responsibility.
- Secure the component system technical roadmaps is aligned to and delivers to the decided product plan for Quester Croner ranges.
- To assure QDCF for projects are delivered according to strategic objectives, project decisions and DVP.
- To establish, maintain and control department budget in order to meet the yearly target.
- To manage and optimize resources according to time and activity plans.
- To secure a continuous follow-up and reduction of product cost within the scope defined by the product responsibility.
- To secure that the employees have necessary competence by establishing a competence plan for the department.
- To carry out performance reviews with direct reporting employees.
- To secure Management System activities review in the scope of the department.
- To secure the company rules and processes are respected and adhered.
- To be a bridge for communication, assuring top-down and bottom-up distribution of information.
Authorities :
- Assign resources to respective projects and maintenance activities , to secure delivery of the project portfolio and securing scalability principles for efficiency
- Approve the technical roadmap for the defined scope aligned to the platform road map and product road maps for the responsible product ranges.
- Lead and develop the team within Chassis Engineering in Vehicle Engineering, UD Trucks, Technology in Bangalore.
Qualifications
MSc Degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or equivalent Extensive experience in the Automotive Chassis Vehicle Dynamics domain with leadership exposure. Solid vast experience in Vehicle Engineering from a truck domain perspective. Line management experience with experience of leading people. Strong Leadership skills with business acumen, ability to drive for results, set priorities, build trust and learn on the fly.
