About our team Powertrain Engineering Bangalore is department responsible for complete powertrain agreegates for heavy and medium duty trucks. Powertrain consists of various teams working on engines, transmission, axles, certification, simulation, vehicle calibration, system engineering, electrical and electronics, verification, and data analysis. We are responsible for developing powertrain solutions front concept till verification, validation, and serial production. Team also takes care market quality issues and supporting global projects. We are now looking for a: Sr Performance Application Engineer As an Application Engineer, your task is to support in the application work for the complete Driveline (Engine and Gearbox) throughout all Vehicle project phases. This means that you must have the ability to drive work independently, with high energy and with an ability to build a good team spirit. You will be the natural speaking partner in all application and software related issues between Powertrain and Vehicle. You will be facilitating, supporting and taking the lead towards final solution. You will have to cooperate, interact and get inputs from Volvo global experts around the world and facilitate communication between Vehicle projects located in Bangalore and Powertrain projects located in Pithampur (India) and/or Ageo (Japan). In more detail, your tasks are: To support the Engine and Gearbox (AMT) Calibration on Vehicles. To support Software debugging in order to insure fast availability of vehicle for testing. To support in Fault Tracing the engine, gearbox. To support Vehicle Electrical and Electronic department with application and software related issues. Secure the component system technical roadmaps is aligned to and delivers to the decided product plan for Quester Croner ranges. To assure QDCF for projects are delivered according to strategic objectives, project decisions and DVP. To establish, maintain and control department budget in order to meet the yearly target. To manage and optimize resources according to time and activity plans. To secure a continuous follow-up and reduction of product cost within the scope defined by the product responsibility. To secure that the employees have necessary competence by establishing a competence plan for the department. To carry out performance reviews with direct reporting employees. To secure Management System activities review in the scope of the department. To secure the company rules and processes are respected and adhered. To be a bridge for communication, assuring top-down and bottom-up distribution of information. Qualifications MSc Degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or equivalent Extensive experience in the Automotive Chassis Vehicle Dynamics domain with leadership exposure. Solid vast experience in Vehicle Engineering from a truck domain perspective. Line management experience with experience of leading people.
