Diploma Engineer Trainee - Computer Science/IT

Role & responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain our E-Security local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure components.
• Install, configure, Troubleshoot, support and resolve network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, network connectivity, server hardware, operating systems, and related software applications.
• Monitor network and server performance and proactively identify and resolve issues, such as bandwidth and performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, security vulnerabilities, and optimize server resources for maximum efficiency.
• Perform network and server maintenance tasks, such as software and firmware upgrades, patch management, and regular backups and recovery procedures.
• Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control policies.
• Conduct Network and Server capacity planning and recommend upgrades or enhancements to ensure optimal network and Server performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network systems with other infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, and security systems.
• Respond to network-related incidents and service requests, provide timely resolution, and ensure effective communication with end users and stakeholders.
• Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of network and server-related software, tools, and services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on servers and enforce security policies. • Implement and maintain server security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Monitor network and server logs and system alerts to identify and respond to potential security threats or unauthorized access attempts. • Collaborate with Corporate IT teams to integrate server systems with other infrastructure components, such as network devices and storage systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of Network and Servers configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in server and network administration, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network and server-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
