Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Nutritional Assessment
  • Assess the nutritional status of patients through clinical evaluation and dietary history.
  • Identify nutritional risks and plan appropriate dietary interventions.
  • Diet Planning & Implementation
  • Prepare individualized diet plans based on medical conditions (diabetes, renal, cardiac, gastrointestinal issues, etc.).
  • Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff to ensure accurate diet implementation.
  • Dietary Counselling
  • Provide counselling to inpatients and outpatients regarding therapeutic diets.
  • Educate patients and families on nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and healthy eating habits.
  • Diet Preparation & Supervision
  • Oversee preparation of special diets in accordance with SOPs.
  • Ensure hygiene, food safety, and quality in the hospital kitchen.
  • Documentation & Monitoring
  • Maintain detailed records of patient diets, counselling, and follow-up.
  • Monitor patient progress and revise diet plans as needed.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure adherence to NABH standards and hospital diet protocols.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Inventory & Procurement
  • Coordinate with the purchase department for diet materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of diet-related items.
  • Training & Coordination
  • Train dietary and kitchen staff on hygienic practices and updated diet protocols.
  • Attend departmental meetings and interdisciplinary discussions.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food & Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition / Dietetics
  • Relevant clinical experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets and hospital nutrition standards

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication and counselling skills
  • Good clinical judgement
  • Knowledge of NABH dietary guidelines
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary medical team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,538.12 - ₹17,275.02 per month
