Devops - Senior Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-8 DevOps engineers and site reliability engineers
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence
• Recruit, hire, and onboard top DevOps talent
• Establish team goals, KPIs, and success metrics aligned with business objectives

Technical Strategy & Architecture

• Define and execute the DevOps strategy and roadmap for scalable infrastructure
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software delivery
• Lead cloud migration and optimization initiatives
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability standards across all systems

Operational Excellence

• Ensure 99.9%+ uptime through robust system design and incident response procedures
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Drive security best practices and compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
• Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and reliability
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to enable fast, secure deployments
• Work closely with engineering managers to optimize development workflows
• Collaborate with leadership team on technical strategy and resource planning
• Communicate system status, incidents, and improvements to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
• 3+ years of engineering management experience with direct reports
• Proven track record of scaling infrastructure for high-growth companies
• Experience managing 24/7 production systems with strict SLA requirements
