Desktop Support Engineer

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. The role involves troubleshooting issues, ensuring smooth IT operations, and assisting users in resolving technical problems promptly. Key Responsibilities: Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person. Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Handle operating system and application software installation, updates, and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory or similar platforms. Coordinate with IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues. Maintain asset records of IT equipment and ensure proper documentation of incidents. Perform regular system checks, updates, and preventive maintenance. Ensure compliance with IT policies, security guidelines, and data protection standards. Provide training and guidance to end-users on basic IT tools and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, IT Support Technician, or similar role. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and commonly used business applications. Basic understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Familiarity with IT ticketing/helpdesk systems. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Customer-oriented with a proactive approach.
