Deskside Support Engineer

• A Desktop Support Engineer provides technical assistance to computer users within an organization, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, software, and network connections.
• They troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and maintain equipment, and offer both on-site and remote support. Their goal is to resolve technical problems, optimize user experience, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues through various methods, including remote troubleshooting and on-site assistance.
• Hardware and Software Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, peripherals, and software applications. This includes setting up new workstations for employees.
• Providing Technical Assistance: Offering support via phone, email, remote access, or in-person to address user queries and issues.
• System Maintenance and Upgrades: Keeping systems updated with the latest software and hardware, and ensuring optimal performance.
• Documentation and Training: Documenting technical issues and solutions, and providing training to end-users on software, hardware, and IT policies.
• Escalation: Knowing when to escalate complex issues to specialized teams or vendors when necessary.
• Maintaining a Positive User Experience: Focusing on user satisfaction and ensuring that users have the necessary tools and support to perform their jobs effectively.
• Staying Updated: Keeping up with the latest technology trends and applying them to improve the organization's IT infrastructure.
