The position of Business Head - Structural Design (Telecom Towers) typically involves overseeing and managing the structural design aspects of telecom towers and associated infrastructure. Below are the general details you can expect for this role: Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management : Lead and manage a team of structural design engineers and specialists. Ensure high-performance standards, training, and development of the team. Collaborate with other departments such as project management, procurement, and quality control to ensure timely delivery. Structural Design Oversight : Oversee the design of telecom towers and related structures ensuring compliance with local and international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IS, Eurocode, ANSI). Lead the preparation of structural design calculations, drawings, and reports for telecom tower foundations, steel structures, and other related components. Review design proposals, making sure they meet safety, reliability, and performance standards. Project Management : Coordinate with project teams to establish design requirements, timelines, and resources. Monitor the design process to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution of projects. Quality Control : Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures for design work. Review and ensure that designs adhere to internal and external quality standards. Technical Guidance : Provide technical expertise and solutions to complex engineering issues related to tower structures, foundation designs, load calculations, etc. Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends in telecom infrastructure and structural design. Risk Management & Compliance : Assess potential risks related to design and implementation, proposing mitigation strategies. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices. Cost Control : Ensure the efficient allocation of resources to achieve design goals within budget. Propose design alternatives or improvements for cost-effective and optimal solutions. Key Skills: Structural Engineering Expertise : Deep knowledge in designing telecom towers, steel structures, foundation design, and load-bearing calculations. Design Software Proficiency : Experience with structural design software like STAAD.Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Project Management : Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, manage teams, and work within deadlines. Knowledge of Codes & Standards : Familiarity with national and international design standards for telecom towers (IS 875, Eurocodes, etc.). Leadership & Communication : Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills for interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications: Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Experience : 10+ years in structural design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, specifically in the telecom or infrastructure industry. Certifications : Professional certifications in structural engineering (e.g., PE, Chartered Engineer) may be beneficial
