Job Description

Job Objectives: Lead and manage the civil design process for renewable projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinate with other departments such as electrical, mechanical, and environmental teams to integrate civil designs seamlessly into the overall solar plant design. Oversee the design of key civil components, including foundations for components, access roads, drainage systems, fencing, and other site infrastructure. Ensure that the designs consider factors like soil conditions, load-bearing requirements, and potential seismic activity. Ensure that designs adhere to local, state, and national building codes and regulations. Manage permitting processes and ensure environmental compliance in the design phase. Incorporate safety and accessibility standards into all designs. Lead a team of civil engineers and designers, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Review of tenders for civil works, cost estimation and budget management for civil design aspects of renewable projects. Perform site assessments to evaluate the suitability for solar / BESS power plants. Manage geotechnical surveys and soil testing to inform the design process.
