Design Manager-Civil/Electrical

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Manager Design (Civil/Electrical) to lead and manage the civil design activities for our projects. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in civil layouts, pile drawings, structural design, and familiarity with IS codes. This role is crucial to ensure that the design, integrity, and implementation of civil structures are in compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Civil Layout Design: Lead the design and development of civil layouts for various infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient and practical designs that meet client specifications.

• Pile Drawings: Create and review detailed pile foundation drawings, ensuring they meet both structural and site-specific requirements.

• Structural Design Understanding: Oversee the structural design process, ensuring that designs are compliant with safety, quality, and durability standards.
• IS Code Compliance: Ensure all civil designs are in accordance with relevant IS (Indian Standards) and international codes for civil engineering.

• Coordination: Work closely with the project management, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of designs across disciplines.

• Site Assessment & Feasibility: Conduct site surveys and provide technical input on feasibility, constructability, and design optimizations.

• Solar Design Expertise: Lead the design process for Ground Mount Solar projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements.

Single Line Diagrams (SLDs): Develop and review SLDs for solar power plants, ensuring accuracy, eAiciency, and compliance with technical specifications.

Layouts and MDL Preparation: Create and finalize electrical layouts and MDL (Mechanical Design Layouts) for solar installations, incorporating industry best practices and safety standards.

DC/AC Calculations: Perform detailed DC/AC electrical calculations for system design, sizing of equipment, and performance analysis.

Standards Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to IS (Indian Standards) and other applicable international electrical standards.

Collaborative Work: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, civil engineers, and procurement teams to ensure seamless project execution.

• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed design reports, calculations, and specifications. Ensure that all documentation is clear, accurate, and easily accessible for review.

• Quality Assurance: Implement design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure high-quality standards are maintained in all civil designs.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  B.Tech/B.E. in Civil/Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in civil design, including expertise in civil layouts, pile foundation designs, and structural understanding.

• Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of civil layouts, pile drawings, and structural design principles.

Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar tools.

In-depth knowledge of IS codes and local/national design regulations.

Ability to conduct structural analysis and interpret results to inform design decisions.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to address design challenges and propose practical solutions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and client interaction.

Team Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor a design team, ensuring high levels of productivity and quality.

Proficient in creating Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, and MDL.

Strong knowledge of DC/AC electrical calculations for solar power systems.

Expertise in electrical standards, particularly IS and international codes.

Familiarity with solar design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope) is a plus.
