Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Design Engineer to support the development of high-quality orthopedic implants and surgical instruments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating CAD models, drafting technical drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, performance, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and an in-depth understanding of medical device design principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of orthopedic implants and instruments using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
• Create and maintain design documentation including BOMs, design history files, and change records.
• Perform tolerance analysis, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly) checks.
• Review and improve existing implant and instrument designs based on surgeon and production feedback.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and verification/validation processes.
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies.

Experience & Qualifications

• 2–6… years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in orthopedic implants or the medical device industry).
• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and documentation standards in medical device design.
• Familiarity with implant materials (Titanium, Stainless Steel, PEEK) and surface treatments (advantage).
