Design Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Design Engineer - Water and Sewer (Chennai) to join our water and sewer infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, hydraulic design, and documentation of water supply and sewerage systems for municipal, industrial, and urban development projects. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and delivering technically sound, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design water distribution and sewer collection networks, including pipeline routing, sizing, and alignment. Conduct hydraulic modeling using industry-standard tools such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, EPANET, or SWMM. Prepare design drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and detailed project reports (DPRs). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated project delivery. Ensure compliance with local and international standards (e.g., IS codes, CPHEEO Manual, AWWA, BS EN). Participate in site investigations, feasibility studies, and support during construction phases as needed. Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders to present and validate design solutions. Assist in technical reviews, value engineering, and preparation of tender documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). 2–5 years of experience in the design of water and sewer infrastructure projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D , and hydraulic modeling software. Knowledge of national and international design codes and practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
