Job Description

Job Title: Design EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to create and develop 3D CAD models for automotive interior trim components. This role involves translating design concepts into manufacturable CAD models, collaborating with various teams, and applying knowledge of plastic and sheet metal design.

Responsibilities

Create and develop 3D CAD models for automotive interior trim components such as instrument panels, door trims, consoles, and pillars.
Translate design concepts into manufacturable CAD models in line with functional, aesthetic, and packaging requirements.
Collaborate with styling, engineering, and manufacturing teams during the product development cycle.
Apply knowledge of plastic and sheet metal part design, including tooling, manufacturing constraints, and assembly feasibility.
Support the development of concepts, layouts, and design solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Participate in design reviews and provide inputs based on technical feasibility and domain standards.
Maintain proper documentation of designs, changes, and version control within PLM systems.
Ensure timely delivery of design deliverables as per project timelines.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in CAD design of automotive interior trims.
Strong proficiency in UG-NX (Unigraphics) for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
In-depth domain knowledge of automotive interior trims, including materials, design standards, packaging, and ergonomics.
Solid understanding of plastic and sheet metal part design, including tooling, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and BOM creation.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
