Job Description

The Deputy Manager Procurement will support and lead procurement operations across sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, logistics coordination, and inventory control. The role will ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of goods and services, aligned with project and organizational requirements. The incumbent will coordinate closely with cross-functional teams, drive supplier performance, and contribute to supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement cycles, including requisitions, RFQs, negotiations, and order finalization.
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage vendor base to ensure timely supply and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
  • Support logistics operations for smooth inbound and outbound material flow.
  • Coordinate import/export procurement processes and statutory documentation.
  • Monitor stock levels, consumption, and delivery schedules to prevent shortages and overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records through ERP systems.
  • Drive cost savings through negotiations, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
  • Prepare procurement reports, MIS, and KPIs for management review.
  • Collaborate with engineering, projects, and finance teams to ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Guide junior procurement team members, ensuring adherence to processes and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Civil). MBA in Materials Management / Supply Chain
  • 6 to 9 years of experience in Procurement & Supply Chain, preferably in EPC, Infrastructure, Power, Oil & Gas, or Construction sectors.
  • Hands-on experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, logistics, and procurement compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP-based procurement systems.
