Job Description

Role: Powertrain positioning in vehicle and advance engine room layout study. Engine mounting design and development. Resolve NVH assembly issues related to engine mounts. Coordinate with suppliers and resolve development issues of engine mounting components. Guide and mentor team members. Responsibilities: Advance layout study: New powertrain positioning in vehicle platforms and engine auxiliary component layouting. Optimize mount parameters: Finalize engine mount center positions and stiffness based on MBD (rigid body mode analysis, mount input force, vibration analysis) using Adam simulation to meet NVH quality targets. Engine mounts design: Design and develop engine mount brackets, including sheet metal, ferro-casting, aluminum casting (GDC HPDC) and rubber insulator components. Resolve NVH issues: Investigate and mitigate NVH issues like idle vibrations, cracking noises, cavitation, and membrane hitting. Project Management: Ensure timely delivery of projects within cost and weight targets, manage project timelines, and track progress. Manage supplier relationships: Collaborate effectively with multiple suppliers, resolve developmental/production line issues through technical skills, strong communication and coordination. Maintain quality: Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and regulations. Drive continuous improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance design processes, reduce costs, and improve product performance. Competency Requirements: Technical/ Functional : Relevant work experience in Engine mounting/vehicle reliability testing or vehicle NVH testing. Basic knowhow of Engine parts sub systems. Model Development Process / Timelines, Engine mount Validation /Testing, Open Point Tracking / Resolution / Closure Understanding of New Model Development Processes Proficient in UGNX for 3D modeling, drafting, and advanced simulation (structural, vibration, frequency response). Knowledge of IC Engines / Emerging Trends in Powertrain technologies Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment as well as be self-motivated for independent work. Flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Tech (Mechanical / Automobile /Mechatronics Engineering)
