Deputy Manager

Role Purpose

• The incumbent of this role is accountable for the systems and machinery maintenance at various plants, project sites at GRIL.
• The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth execution of various activities across GRIL which are plant, equipment and systems based.
• The incumbent is also responsible for resolving operational issues to ensure minimal delays.

Key Responsibilities

• P&E Planning & Performance – Estimate resource requirements (human, financial, equipment etc..) and their allocation to the identified activities. Manage staff according to the established policies and procedures. Ensure the performance of machines remains above certain set standard. Facilitate existing vendors to ensure smooth completion of assigned activities. Assign and inspect the tasks of the subordinate technical staff.

• P&E Operations – Frequent review of preventive, breakdown and scheduled maintenance progress and identify underlying deviations from schedule. Review the site schedule with the concerned authorities and the seniors through daily progress report. Ensure minimal delays and zero-machinery breakdowns as well as timely resolution of service tickets regarding machinery downtime.

• Stakeholder Management & Reporting – Apprise the GRIL seniors of the project progress and request for support/necessary inputs to ensure smooth project execution at project sites. Ensure that all preventive maintenance, breakdowns and deviations from the SOPs are appropriately documented and secured through the DPR and other reporting mechanisms. Resolve any issues related to specific Project and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• People Management – Ensure that all employee grievances are handled in an appropriate manner. Monitor performance of operators employed at the project site and provide necessary support to ensure defined production efficiency.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with 3-7 years experience

or

• BE/B.Tech with 2-5 years experience

or

• M.Tech with 2-4 years experience
• Experience in handling work with scope across 2-5 km in a road construction project
