Job Description

Job purpose Maintenance &Facilities managers will be responsible for the management of services and facilities. They will be required to ensure that the organization has a safe and secure working environment for its employees.
Prime focus area of the facilities manager will be to use best business practices to improve efficiency thereby reducing operating costs.
  • Activities that the position needs to supervise, manage and control are:
  • Supervising a team of maintenance and repair personnel.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Managing budgets and controlling maintenance costs.
  • Monitoring the efficiency and lifespan of equipment
  • Building (external building, conference rooms, cabin, work areas, cubicles etc), grounds and garden maintenance
  • Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry and other essential facilities and ensure maintenance of all HVAC systems and electrical systems.
  • Maintenance of all safety equipment and support in the safety audits to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintenance of all utilities, communications infrastructure, space management, waste treatment systems.
  • Conducting energy audits and preparing energy conservation reports.
  • Developing and managing energy conservation programs.
  • Analyzing energy usage data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinating with facility team to implement energy-efficient technologies.
  • Monitoring utility bills and verifying energy savings.
  • Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building.
  • Ensure Mandatory & Government regulatory requirements are in place & current
  • Ensure Energy calculation for all facility area
  • Procurement of facility related items and vendor contract management
    Create a schedule of regular evaluation of the facilities.
  • Develop a system for cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities
  • Ensure the safety of the building or establishment from fire, flood and other hazards.
  • Build and maintain profitable and long-term relationships with vendors
  • Report on Environment, health and safety related issues on the available communication mediums.
  • Ensure safety audits completion on time and vigilant to safety at workplace for safe working environment.
  • Leading GSSF element by implementing GSSF procedures and ensure sustainability of the elements assigned.
  • Safety Incident investigation & Closing responsibility with 8D
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, as a minimum a National degree with 8 or more years of experience
  • Experience with ISO14001/ISO45001 or other accredited standards.
  • Experience with ISO50001 and Internal/Lead Auditor in Energy Management or ISO 14064 Serios experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Computer literate – MS Office and CMMS software
  • Good communication skill
