To support the EHS Sr. Manager in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive EHS Management System across the plant, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements, driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance, and building a proactive safety culture. The EHS Deputy Manager acts as a link between strategic planning and day-to-day EHS operations, ensuring that safety initiatives are effectively executed at all levels.

Regulatory Compliance Support
- Monitor compliance with EHS laws and internal standards (Factory Act, Gujarat Factory Rules, Environment Acts, PESO, etc.).
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and coordinating with regulatory bodies for inspections, documentation, and queries.
- Support the EHS Manager in updating policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance.
EHS Management System Implementation
- Facilitate implementation and upkeep of the plant's EHS Management System (EHSMS).
- Ensure all EHS processes (risk assessment, audits, trainings, reporting, etc.) are integrated into plant operations.
- Support documentation, internal reviews, and system improvements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Conduct and update workplace risk assessments in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor implementation of risk control measures and escalate gaps to the EHS Manager.
Training and Capacity Building
- Organize and conduct EHS training sessions for employees, contract workers, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with training calendars and mandatory training requirements.
- Promote behavioral safety through toolbox talks, job safety analysis (JSA), and refresher sessions.
Incident Investigation and CAPA
- Lead or support investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis is completed.
- Track implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) across departments and verify their effectiveness.
Environmental Compliance Monitoring
- Assist in managing waste disposal, air/water monitoring, and hazardous material handling in line with legal and internal requirements.
- Ensure records for consent renewals (CPCB/SPCB), waste manifests, and statutory returns are maintained properly.
Emergency Preparedness
- Support regular testing of emergency preparedness plans through mock drills and simulations.
- Ensure fire safety systems, emergency exits, first aid setups, and response teams are audit-ready and fully functional.
Internal Audits and Inspections
- Plan and conduct regular EHS internal audits and safety inspections.
- Follow up on audit observations and closure of non-conformities in coordination with concerned departments.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain records related to incidents, inspections, waste management, training, risk assessments, etc.
- Assist the EHS Manager in generating MIS reports and dashboards for leadership and regulatory compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Culture
- Participate in cross-functional EHS improvement projects, kaizens, and 5S initiatives.
- Encourage employee involvement in safety programs and promote proactive hazard reporting.
Coordination and Communication
- Act as a liaison between shop floor teams and EHS leadership to ensure consistent communication of safety expectations.
- Represent the EHS team in meetings, safety committees, and during audits when required.
