Deputy Manager - EHS

The Safety Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across all phases of the hydroelectric power project. This position demands a proactive approach to risk management, regulatory adherence, and continuous improvement of safety practices in a complex construction environment.

• Implement and monitor site-specific EHS plans in accordance with national and international standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all work fronts.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation measures to prevent incidents.
• Supervise high-risk activities including tunneling, excavation, heavy equipment operations, and confined space work.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure consistent safety practices and compliance.
• Deliver safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response training.
• Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, and regulatory documentation.
• Liaise with statutory authorities for inspections, reporting, and compliance matters.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the project site.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical preferred).

• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS / PDIS)

  – Mandatory.
• 8–12 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in hydroelectric or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of EHS legislation, codes of practice, and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ICOLD, MoEFCC).
• Experience in managing safety for underground works, heavy machinery, and remote site operations.
