Deputy General Manager

As a BESS Specialist (Design Engineering) at Avaada Group in Noida, India, your primary responsibility will be focused on system design and engineering of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to meet project goals. You will review load profiles, select and size battery systems, and optimize parameters for performance using simulation tools like MATLAB and Homer. Your technical expertise will be crucial, as you will need a deep understanding of BESS design, battery chemistry, performance modeling, and lifetime estimation. Additionally, knowledge of various battery applications and optimization strategies, as well as experience with AC and DC coupled BESS, will be essential in this role. Collaboration and integration are key aspects of this position, as you will work closely with electrical, civil, and PV engineering teams to develop battery container layouts, single-line, and three-line diagrams. Integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and SCADA designs from third parties will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be required to model energy storage system performance, develop technical specifications, and scopes of work. Designing hybrid renewable energy sources and power generation mixes for microgrids using simulation tools will also be part of your job scope. In terms of qualifications, a degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power systems, renewable energy, or sustainable technology is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Renewable Energy Systems, including Solar PV, Battery Storage, and Wind Energy, is necessary. Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of experience in conceptual design, simulation, and deployment of BESS. Proficiency in simulation and design tools such as Unit Substation MATLAB, HOMER, Dig SILENT, ETAP, PSCAD is expected. Knowledge of battery technologies, value chain, manufacturing quality processes, and familiarity with relevant standards and grid interconnection standards are also essential. Experience with power system simulation tools and microgrid simulation tools, strong project management skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are additional qualifications that will be beneficial in this role. If you have exposure to software like Homer Pro, Homer Grid, PSSE, DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, MATLAB, and PSCAD, it will be considered a strong advantage.
