Job Description

Head of Delivery - RPA and OCR

Overview of the Role :

Head of Delivery - RPA and OCR

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership & Solution Design:

  • Lead the technical design, development, and deployment of RPA and OCR solutions, ensuring they align with business goals in the education sector (e.g., admissions, grading, student records).
  • Own the debugging and troubleshooting process, ensuring smooth execution of automation workflows and identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Work with the US-based clients to understand requirements, provide technical solutions, and translate them into actionable automation strategies.
  • Drive the technical architecture and scalability of solutions, ensuring the ability to handle increasing volume and complexity.

2. Quality Assurance & Delivery Management:

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of all RPA and OCR implementations by applying best practices for testing, debugging, and solution validation.
  • Oversee code reviews and provide guidance to developers, ensuring that the team adheres to high standards of coding and automation quality.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for automation solutions to ensure robust, bug-free deployment in live environments.
  • Ensure that automation projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

3. Managing US-India Delivery:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of automation projects with a geographically distributed team (primarily US and India), handling time zone differences and ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Act as the key point of contact between the US-based clients and the India-based delivery team, managing expectations and resolving any issues that arise due to time zone gaps.
  • Coordinate and optimize the work schedule across regions to ensure that project milestones are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular updates to US-based clients on project progress, risks, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business goals.

4. Stakeholder & Team Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders in the US to understand their needs and ensure alignment between the clients expectations and the delivered automation solutions.
  • Mentor and guide the delivery teams in India, providing support in technical areas, ensuring skill development, and maintaining high levels of motivation and engagement.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient collaboration between business, technical, and operational teams in both regions.

5. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and work closely with both business and technical teams to optimize workflows using RPA and OCR.
  • Advocate for the adoption of best practices and standards in RPA and OCR development across both the US and India teams.
  • Continuously monitor and measure the performance of automation solutions and work to drive improvements in both quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Masters preferred).

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in delivering RPA and OCR solutions (Minimum 3+ years of UiPath experience, 1+ years of OCR experience) with a strong focus on testing, solution design, and delivery management in an education context.
  • 3+ years of experience managing distributed teams (US and India), with expertise in time zone management and cross-regional collaboration.
  • 5+ years of customer communication experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with at least one ERP application (HR, Finance, Student System, Salesforce, Workday, Oracle ERP Cloud, EBS, or SAP)
  • Strong experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere) and OCR technologies (e.g., ABBYY, Kofax).
  • Proven track record in managing the technical delivery of automation projects and ensuring high-quality, bug-free deployment.
  • Experience with educational systems, including student information systems, learning management systems, and administrative workflows (admissions, grading, compliance) is a plus.
  • Should have a good understanding of Automation and UI Selectors.
  • Should have implemented Bots using multiple Frameworks.
  • RPA Architecture, Chatbot AI experience, Stress Testing, Performance Testing , experience will be a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in managing US-India delivery teams, optimizing work schedules, and managing time zone gaps.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams in both regions.
  • In-depth understanding of the education sector’s operational processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, solve complex technical problems, and deliver high-quality automation solutions.
