DE-Cloud FinOps Engineer -GDSN02

• Driving Cloud Optimization: Partner with engineering to analyze workload performance and costs, leading initiatives to right size and re-architect cloud environments for peak efficiency.
• Managing Rate Optimization: Strategically manage and adopt rate optimization strategies (RIs, SPs, CUDs) with procurement and finance to secure significant savings.
• Delivering Financial Insights: Develop advanced analytics on cloud cost data for precise forecasting, budgeting, and anomaly detection.
• Chargeback/Showback: Improve and maintain models that clearly attribute cloud spend, enhancing accountability and financial alignment.
• Ensuring Financial Accuracy: Oversee cloud invoice reconciliation, allocations, and amortization with finance and accounting teams.
• Embedding FinOps Culture: Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate cost-awareness into engineering design and development workflows.
• Empowering Self-Service: Build dashboards and integrate FinOps KPIs for self-service analytics across engineering and finance.
• Overseeing FinOps Tools / Custom tools: Act as the subject matter expert for third-party FinOps tooling, managing vendors and optimizing features for business outcomes.
• Responsible for implementation of Cost Optimization automation themes.

Skills and attributes for success

• Deep Cloud Cost Expertise: Proven experience in cloud workload and rate optimization across AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a history of driving significant savings.
• Advanced FinOps Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud cost allocation models, tagging, and FinOps Framework capabilities (Reporting & Analytics, Workload Optimization, Invoicing & Chargeback, Organizational Alignment).
• Data & Platform Fluency: Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud billing data (FOCUS or similar) and proficiency in data tooling (SQL, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Bilingual Communication: Fluent in both technical cloud architecture and financial (FP&A) language for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Architectural Awareness: Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns (containers, serverless, autoscaling) and their cost impact.
• Financial Process Savvy: Comfortable with financial close processes, invoice reconciliation, and cloud cost forecasting.
• Proven Influencer: A track record of successfully influencing diverse stakeholders to adopt FinOps best practices and metrics.
• FinOps Community Engagement: FinOps (Practitioner, Professional, FOCUS Analyst) and Cloud Vendor Certifications Preferably Azure. Active community participation is a strong plus.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• BE/B.Tech/MCA with a sound industry experience of 6 to 8 years
• Cloud Computing knowledge in multi cloud environments (Azure,AWS & GCP)
• Implementing and managing FinOps tools and custom tools
• Experience in applying cost specific Azure policy to the resource for cost governance
• Hands-on experience with Azure / AWS / GCP Infrastructure Services
• Scripting Knowledge on Python and cloud native CLIs
• Must be good in IAC tools such as Terraform

• FinOps Practitioner Certification
• FinOps Engineer Certification (Good to have)
• Microsoft Certified: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (AZ-305)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
• Certified Backstage Associate (CBA)
• Good to have knowledge in Terraform Cloud, Ansible Tower
