Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in BE / B.Tech / MCA or a related technical field.

5+ years of hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL in production environments.

Strong experience in SQL query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL internals, execution plans, and indexing strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in writing PL/pgSQL functions, stored procedures, and triggers.

Experience with data migration using COPY, FDW, and other data loaders.

Strong understanding of transaction isolation levels, constraints, and concurrency control.

Experience with schema design, table partitioning, and materialized views.

Exposure to Oracle, MySQL, or other RDBMS and migration strategies.

Experience writing ETL scripts and batch jobs for data transformation.

Ability to proactively identify and resolve slow queries and long-running processes.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers in PostgreSQL.

Perform performance tuning and optimization of database queries and indexing strategies.

Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, architects, and DevOps teams.

Migrate data from legacy systems or other databases (Oracle, DB2, MySQL) to PostgreSQL.

Assist in schema design, database modeling, partitioning, and materialized view creation.

Write and maintain ETL and batch processing jobs.

Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks and long-running queries.
