About the Role:

PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain
PostgreSQL databases
across multiple environments.
Manage and optimize database
performance, scalability, and reliability
.
Implement and maintain
replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms
.
Perform regular
backups, restores, and disaster recovery drills
.
Work with
AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM)
to manage cloud-based database infrastructure.
Develop and maintain
shell scripts
for automation and monitoring.
Perform
query optimization and performance tuning
using pgAdmin and related tools.
Configure and manage
pgBouncer
for connection pooling.
Manage
AWS DMS
for data migration and synchronization.
Monitor databases proactively and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

4+ years
of hands-on experience as a
PostgreSQL DBA
in production environments.
Strong expertise in
replication, clustering, failover, and high availability solutions
.
Experience with
AWS services
– RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM.
Proficient in
Linux/Unix administration
and
shell scripting
.
Experience with
pgAdmin
,
pgBouncer
, and
AWS DMS
.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of database
security, backup, and recovery strategies
.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
