Job Description: Snowflake Data Engineer – Pharma Domain

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Data Engineer with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical commercial data environments. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize cloud-based data pipelines and warehouses in Snowflake, enabling analytics, reporting, and compliance across pharma sales, marketing, and commercial operations. This role requires a mix of strong data engineering expertise, SQL programming, and domain knowledge of pharma datasets (HCP, HCO, sales, claims, prescription, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

• Snowflake Development & Optimization
• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake-based data warehouses to support commercial operations, sales, and marketing analytics.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake features (Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Cloning, etc.).
• Implement data modeling (3NF, Star, Snowflake schemas) for scalability and performance.
• Optimize query performance, warehouse sizing, and cost management.
• Pharma Data Engineering
• Ingest, transform, and curate pharma datasets such as HCP/HCO master data, prescription/claims data, sales data, alignment/territory data, and patient data.
• Integrate data from external vendors (IQVIA, Symphony, Veeva, Definitive HC, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and Sunshine Act requirements in data handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience with at least 2+ years in Snowflake (cloud warehouse).
• Strong SQL programming and performance tuning skills.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (DBT, Informatica, Talend, Matillion, Fivetran, etc.).
• Knowledge of pharma commercial data including HCP/HCO, sales, claims, prescription, and patient datasets.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations in pharma/life sciences.
