Cyber Security Specialist

I’m looking for a freelancer who can help me build a Centralized Log and Alert Management System for a college assignment. The work involves setting up a small virtual lab using Oracle VirtualBox with three machines: an Ubuntu Server, an Ubuntu Client, and a Windows 11 Client. All machines should communicate on a host-only network with static IPs.

The main goal is to collect logs from both clients on the Ubuntu Server. The server should run Rsyslog, OpenSearch, Filebeat, and OpenSearch Dashboards to store, index, and visualize logs. The Ubuntu client must forward its system logs through Rsyslog, and the Windows 11 client must forward logs using NxLog (including important events like failed login attempts).

I also need a basic alerting system where the server sends alerts to Slack and email whenever specific events occur (failed SSH login, wrong sudo password, Windows failed login event 4625, etc.). A few simple dashboards should be created in OpenSearch Dashboards to show failed logins and other activity. After setting everything up, the logs, dashboards, and alerts should be tested to make sure everything works.

The final deliverables include the working VirtualBox lab, all configuration files, screenshots, a simple report (PDF/DOCX), and a short demonstration video. You will complete the setup on your own system first and then guide me on how to set it up on mine.

I don’t need a corporate-grade solution — just a clean, working setup with clear explanations.
