Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• BI Tools Management

  :
• Install, configure, and manage BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikSense) across multiple environments (Development, Test, Production).
• Monitor the performance of BI tools, diagnose issues, and ensure tools are running optimally.
• Apply patches, updates, and system enhancements for all BI platforms.
• Perform regular backups and system restorations to ensure minimal downtime.

• User Management & Security

  :
• Configure user roles, permissions, and security settings for each BI tool, ensuring proper access control and security protocols.
• Manage user groups, and troubleshoot user access issues.
• Provide support for end-users regarding login issues, access rights, and system functionality.

• Performance Tuning & Optimization

  :
• Monitor the health and performance of BI servers and ensure minimal performance degradation.
• Conduct performance tuning (query optimization, server resource management) to ensure fast and accurate report generation.

• Collaboration & Support

  :
• Work with BI developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure the BI environment is aligned with business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BI tool functionality.
• Provide training and guidance to end-users for optimal utilization of BI platforms.

• Documentation & Reporting

  :
• Maintain thorough documentation on BI tool configuration, processes, user management procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Produce regular reports on system health, user activity, and usage metrics for management review.

• Best Practices & Upgrades

  :
• Stay up to date with the latest BI trends, features, and best practices for Tableau, Power BI, and QlikSense.
• Ensure the BI infrastructure follows industry standards and best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Support upgrades and new tool deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Required Technical Skills:

• BI Tools Administration

  :
• Hands-on experience in administering

  Tableau

  ,

  Power BI

  , and

  QlikSense

  environments (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Deep understanding of the architecture, licensing, and administration of these BI tools.
• Familiarity with multi-environment setups (Development, UAT, Production).

• Server Management

  :
• Experience managing BI platforms on Windows environments.
• Knowledge of server monitoring tools and techniques.
• Experience with load balancing, high availability, and failover configurations.

• Data Management

  :
• Familiarity with data sources the integration of BI tools with relational and cloud-based databases.
• Experience in query optimization, performance tuning, and ETL processes.

• Security & Access Control

  :
• Expertise in user management, authentication methods (SSO, Active Directory integration), and setting up role-based access control (RBAC).
• Knowledge of encryption, data privacy laws, and securing BI environments.

• Automation & Scripting

  :
• Experience with scripting and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Ability to create and maintain batch jobs, scheduled tasks, and data refresh scripts.

• Monitoring & Performance Optimization

  :
• Experience in monitoring BI platforms and identifying bottlenecks.
• Knowledge of SQL query optimization, data extraction methods, and report generation optimization techniques.

• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  :
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving BI platform issues, from user access problems to performance degradation.

Preferred candidate profile

Tableau

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of hands-on experience with the administration and support of BI tools, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Admin will work closely with the BI development team and end-users to ensure that all BI tools are running efficiently, supporting business intelligence reporting, and ensuring optimal system performance.

Admin will be responsible for managing user access, security, updates, and ensuring a seamless BI experience across the organization
