Curriculum Developer – Chess

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop a comprehensive chess curriculum aligned with international best practices, tailored for beginner to advanced learners.
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans, training exercises, assignments, and evaluation tools.
• Innovate and integrate modern teaching methods, gamification, and interactive techniques to keep students engaged.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts, chess coaches, and instructional designers to refine curriculum quality.
• Stay updated with latest trends, tools, and techniques in chess education and incorporate them into the curriculum.
• Ensure that the curriculum fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategy-building among learners.
• Regularly review and update content based on student feedback, facilitator inputs, and performance outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong background in Chess with proven expertise (FIDE rating, tournament experience, or equivalent recognition preferred).
• Prior experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or educational content creation, ideally in the chess or sports education domain.
• Excellent understanding of pedagogy for children and young learners.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and present them in engaging, interactive formats.
• Strong communication and writing skills in English.
• Creative mindset with the ability to bring fresh ideas and innovations to traditional learning methods.
• Tech-savvy, comfortable with digital learning platforms, and able to integrate technology into curriculum design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree/Certification in Education, Sports Management, or Instructional Design.
• Experience teaching chess online or offline to children/young learners.
• Familiarity with gamification tools, learning management systems (LMS), and online teaching resources.
