Credit Underwriter

As a Credit Underwriter in the Working Capital department, your role involves underwriting and appraising credit proposals according to policy guidelines within specified Turnaround Times (TATs). You will be responsible for analyzing financial statements, cash flows, bank statements, and ratios to evaluate SME funding requirements. Additionally, you will review cases transitioning from credit processing to underwriting and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, including personal discussions (PD). Key Responsibilities: - Conduct Financial Analysis to assess client creditworthiness, past trends, and net worth - Perform Statutory Analysis by verifying GST filings, tax liabilities, and liquidity position - Conduct Qualitative Analysis to identify potential risks and ensure a comprehensive assessment - Perform Legal Analysis by checking for complaints or legal disputes against the client - Conduct on-ground verification, including site visits, to validate business activity - Attend customer meetings, conduct internal/external reference checks, and assess fraud risks (FCU/RCU) - Underwrite customer cases based on policy, and recommend approval or rejection - Collaborate with sales teams, channel partners, and cross-sell teams to support business growth - Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth loan disbursement - Perform portfolio analysis to mitigate risk and facilitate sound loan approvals Qualifications Required: - CA/CMA/MBA qualification - Strong understanding of financial statements and credit analysis - Knowledge of SME funding requirements and underwriting principles - Ability to perform detailed financial, statutory, qualitative, and legal analysis - Proficiency in conducting on-ground verifications, customer meetings, and fraud risk assessments - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders (Note: Additional details about the company were not provided in the job description),
