Costing Engineer

As a Costing Engineer at ACCORD AUTOCOMP PVT LTD, you will play a crucial role in precision cost estimation for products manufactured through pressing, fabrication, and powder coating processes. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will contribute to establishing accurate standard costs, supporting pricing strategies, and enhancing profitability across our commodity lines. Key Responsibilities: - Develop detailed cost estimates for new products and engineering changes, including analysis of raw materials (steel, aluminum), tooling, processing time (stamping/pressing, welding, bending), labor, overhead, and powder coating applications. - Collaborate with the Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to analyze manufacturing processes and time studies, ensuring that cost models accurately reflect operational complexity and efficiency. - Establish and regularly review standard costs for all manufactured commodities, investigating and explaining significant variances between actual and standard costs. - Maintain the costing database and ERP system with up-to-date material prices, labor rates, and machine burden rates for pressing, welding, and powder coating operations. - Conduct profitability analysis to evaluate product margins, provide data-driven recommendations for pricing strategies, and assist sales teams in make-or-buy decisions. - Identify cost-reduction opportunities by analyzing bills of material (BOMs), optimizing process routings, and exploring alternative manufacturing methods. Qualifications: - DME/ BE (Mechanical), B.tech - Minimum 3 years of experience in cost engineering within the sheet metal manufacturing industry, preferably involving metal stamping/pressing, welding/fabrication, and surface finishing (powder coating) processes.
