Legal Counsel / Commercial Contracts Lawyer, Americas and Global Markets (Remote)

Full time, Bangalore, India

In this role you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and providing sound legal advice related to sales and contracting activities. This role requires close collaboration with colleagues and clients in the US, Canada, Latin America, and other regions, and is expected to work outside of regular business hours to accommodate international time zones. The position can be virtual, hybrid, or office-based, depending on location.

As a Legal Counsel / Commercial Contracts Lawyer, you will

• Review, draft and negotiate various types of commercial contracts including client, supplier, technology contracts, and other legal documents, including multinational global agreements.
• Increase legal awareness of the commercial teams by communicating contractual obligations in non-legal terms through presentations/trainings and creating and distributing necessary documentation
• Advise business clients on legal and regulatory issues and risks, data privacy and security issues, approval processes, company policies and procedures, and business strategy.
• Monitor the development of new laws affecting the business.
• Maintain and update template agreements for supported regions

About you

• Qualified lawyer with a extensive years of experience in a reputable international western law firm and/or multinational in-house law department.
• Customer-service oriented approach to practicing law with a focus on practical application.
• Ability to interact with company leadership, propose practical and creative solutions to complex business issues, and provide pragmatic risk assessments.
• Good sense of humor and be a team-player who will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and collegial atmosphere.
• Experience drafting and negotiating multinational commercial contracts, especially client sales or service agreements is required.
