Job Title: Corporate Advocate / Legal Manager

Department: Legal & Compliance

Experience Required: 7 to 12 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal role, preferably from a manufacturing / industrial / FMCG / Automobile sector.

Location: Mumbai (Central Line)

Reports To: Director

Gender Male / Female

Number of Openings – 1 Nos

Job Purpose:

To manage all legal and compliance functions of the organization, including contract management, litigation, and statutory compliance. The role involves providing strategic legal advice to safeguard the company’s interests and ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Drafting & Documentation

  • Draft, review, and vet all types of contracts and legal documents including:
  • Vendor agreements, service contracts, lease deeds, NDAs, employment agreements, and commercial MOUs.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with statutory requirements in all legal documents.

2. Litigation & Case Handling

  • Independently handle company litigation matters (civil, criminal, labour, arbitration, and consumer cases).
  • Coordinate with external advocates for filing, hearings, and case follow-ups.
  • Prepare written statements, affidavits, and evidence documentation.
  • Maintain a tracker for all ongoing and closed cases with timely updates to management.

3. Legal Advisory & Risk Management

  • Provide expert legal opinions to management on contracts, disputes, and compliance issues.
  • Identify potential legal risks in business operations and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Advise on labor laws, property matters, company law, and industrial disputes.

4. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance under the Companies Act, 2013, and other applicable labor, environmental, and industrial laws.
  • Liaise with consultants for ROC filings, board resolutions, and other statutory documentation.
  • Keep management informed about updates or changes in relevant laws and regulations.

5. Coordination & Liaison

  • Liaise with government authorities, statutory bodies, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure all legal processes are followed.

6. Documentation & Record Maintenance

  • Maintain systematic records of all legal documents, agreements, and case files.
  • Track contract renewals, terminations, and legal compliance timelines.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong command over Corporate Law, Labor Law, and Commercial Law.
  • Proven experience in court case handling and liaison with advocates.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker with sound legal judgment.
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: LL.B (Mandatory); LL.M preferred.
  • Experience: 7–12 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal role, preferably from a manufacturing / industrial / FMCG / infrastructure sector.
  • Preferred Background: Exposure to contract law, litigation, and industrial compliance.
