Contracts Manager

Job Summary

The Contract Manager Roads & Highways is responsible for managing and administering contracts for road, highway, and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and legal requirements. The role supports project delivery by controlling contractual risk, managing claims and variations, and ensuring alignment with employer and authority requirements.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and administer contracts for road, highway, and infrastructure projects from award to close-out
  
• Review, interpret, and ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings
  
• Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risk exposure
  
• Manage change orders, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims
  
• Prepare, review, and submit contractual correspondence, notices, and reports
  
• Lead or support negotiations with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  
• Ensure compliance with standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, EPC, Design & Build)
  
• Monitor contractual milestones, payment certifications, and final accounts
  
• Support tendering and bid evaluation with contractual risk assessments
  
• Manage dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims preparation and defense
  
• Coordinate with planning, cost control, legal, and procurement teams
  
• Ensure proper contract close-out and documentation archiving

• Strong understanding of road and highway construction methods and sequencing
  
• Excellent contract interpretation and negotiation skills
  
• Strong analytical and commercial awareness
