Job Description


Position Title: Business Development Consultant

Location: Gujarat, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune (1 for each location)

Employment Type: Retainer and Incentive-Based


Company Overview:

We are a leading manufacturer of high-quality forged and machined components for automotive and non-automotive industries based out of NCR. We are committed to delivering precision-engineered solutions to our clients and are seeking a dynamic Business Development Consultant to drive business growth in key markets.


Job Summary:

The Business Development Consultant will be responsible for securing business opportunities for forged and machined components, primarily for automotive and non-automotive applications, with a focus on components weighing 1 kg and above. The role involves leveraging industry connections (Railways, Defence, Agriculture, Tractor, heavy earth moving), negotiating contracts, and managing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process to expand the company’s market presence in Gujarat, Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune. The consultant will combine technical expertise and business acumen to drive growth and foster long-term partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:


Identify and secure new business opportunities for forged and machined components in the automotive and non-automotive sectors.


Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders to generate leads and close deals.

 

Manage the end-to-end RFQ process, including preparation, submission, and follow-up with prospective clients.


Negotiate contracts and pricing on behalf of the company, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and profitability.


Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive dynamics in the target regions (Gujarat, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune).


Represent the company professionally in client meetings, industry events, and negotiations.


Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and market feedback to senior management.


Qualifications and Skills:


Proven experience in business development or sales within the forging and machining industry, preferably for automotive and non-automotive components.

Strong technical knowledge of forged and machined components to effectively negotiate with clients and address their requirements.

Exceptional negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close deals and secure profitable contracts.

Established network of industry contacts in Gujarat, Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune to facilitate business growth.

Proficiency in handling RFQs, including cost estimation, proposal development, and client communication.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a retainer and incentive-based structure.


Compensation Structure:


The position operates on a retainer and incentive-based model, with compensation tied to the successful securing of business contracts.


Further details regarding the compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process.


Preferred Qualifications:


Background in mechanical engineering or a related field is an advantage.

Prior experience working with components weighing 1 kg and above is highly desirable.

Familiarity with the automotive and non-automotive markets in Gujarat, Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune.
